Michael Whyte, Funeral Director
Office Phone: 239-659-2009
Fax: 239-659-2013

Michael grew up in Hollywood, Florida having moved from Boston, Massachusetts in 1958. He attended middle school and graduated from McArthur High School in Hollywood, Florida in 1964, and enrolled in an apprentice/intern program with a family owned funeral home located in Miami Beach.

In the 1960’s Florida had no funeral service schools so Michael returned to Boston, Massachusetts and, in 1965, enrolled in the New England Institute of Anatomy. Michael graduated in 1968 and completed his intern program in 1970. In 1971, Michael received his Massachusetts embalmers license and funeral directors license.

Michael practiced in Massachusetts until he moved to Naples, Florida in 2005, and became associated with Service Corporation International.  After SCI acquired Hodges Funeral Home in 2007, Michael was assigned as manager of advanced planning. In 2007, upon receiving his Florida embalmers and funeral directors license, Michael became general manager of Hodges Funeral Home and Naples Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Naples, and Hodges Josberger Funeral Home in Marco Island.

In recent years, he resigned his position from SCI to pursue his vision of a community based funeral establishment as a founder of Legacy Options, LLC.

Glenn Witzenburg, Funeral Director
Office Phone: 239-659-2009

Glenn has worked as a licensed funeral director for over 40 years in Iowa, Nebraska and Florida. His first two professional years were spent in Iowa as an embalmer and funeral director.  From there he moved to Auburn, Nebraska where he eventually purchased a local funeral home.  Throughout his years of private ownership, Glenn gained vast experience into the day to day operation of a community based privately-owned funeral home.

In 1989, Glenn sold his funeral home to a corporation with funeral homes across the US. He continued his relationship with this national corporation until the late 1990’s, at which time Glenn re-purchased his funeral home along with several other homes. He later passed his funeral homes to his family and in 2005, moved to Florida with his wife, Pamela.

Realizing his love of profession, Glenn began assisting at a Naples funeral home until he met Michael Whyte and both, he and Michael founded Legacy Options, LLC.

Throughout his professional years, Glenn has been involved as a member of the National Funeral Directors Association, Independent Funeral Directors of Florida, Florida Cemetery, Cremation and Funeral Association, the Nebraska Funeral Directors Association (also acting as its past President), Chamber of Commerce (also serving as Auburn, Nebraska President), and has served on numerous church boards. He is also a current member of Naples North Rotary Club and Celebration Community Beach Church.

Jeffrey practiced in Pennsylvania until he came to Florida in 1997 to find the warmth and beauty of South Florida.  Jeffrey continued his funeral l service career and has served Funeral homes along Florida's East Coast, managed a cremation society and was a Funeral Director at the former Johnson-Pittman Funeral Home which was located in Naples.

"As a Funeral Director I believe in the value and peace of mind that prearranging one's funeral or cremation service in advance gives to you and your family. Once you take care of your arrangements, you are truly showing how much love you have for your family and friends.  It is my belief that the time spent prearranging one's own service makes a difficult time and ultimate reality a time truly for remembering and honoring one's life lived. "

Contact Jeffrey anytime regarding at-need funeral or cremation arrangements or any questions about pre-arranging.

Lois Bolin, Ph.D., Pre-Arrangement Counselor
Office Phone: 239-659-2009
Fax: 239-659-2013
Mobile Phone: 239-777-2281

Lois' journey to become one of our area's most active community stewards, began in her home state, South Carolina, as a cheerleader and educator.  During her 33 years in her adopted home of Naples, her business, Success Fulfillment, Inc., focused on strategic innovative ways to think, for both for profit and non for profit businesses, incorporating the success principles of proactive planning and service to community - the key to fulfillment.

Her model of connecting and collaborating for the greater good of community has resulted in more awareness on the value of Naples history, thus sustaining the legacy of pioneering families.  Her most recent collaboration with the City of Naples resulted in a free Web App for smartphones and tablets that maps Naples historic markers so families can plan their own outings to connect with each other and their community.

She says her love of elders and their stories comes from her Southern roots.  She was taught that honoring one's family name, heritage and legacy matters the most, next to respect for Veterans and their families whose sacrifices preserve our freedom.  These non-negotiable values have followed her throughout her life, no doubt inspiring her to facilitate national veteran's initiatives locally, Keep the Spirit of 45 Alive and Taps Across America and to re-energize the Library of Congress Veterans History Project.

Her service has been recognized by various organizations, earning her the title of 2013 'Woman of Achievement', by the American Association of University Women; 2008 'Woman in History' by the American Business Women's Association (Neo. Chapter); and a 2004 'Woman of Initiative' by the Community Foundation of Collier County.

Lois sees pre-need planning through the same lens as any strategic solutions by  'beginning with the end in mind'.  By taking care of the details sooner, rather than later, we are able to focus on what really matter the most:  bringing loved ones together to honor the  name, heritage and legacy of a family.
