Obituary for
Laura Elizabeth Linton
Laura Elizabeth Linton, 47, of Naples succumbed to an aggressive cancer on August 4, 2018 at Lee Memorial Hospital in Fort Myers, Florida. Internment will be in the Salem, Utah cemetery.
She was born in Salt Lake City on August 3, 1971to Garth F. and Kaaren L. Rasmussen Linton. She attended Kearns High School in West Valley City, Utah and was a Sterling Scholar in Math and a National Merit Scholar. Laura’s education was varied – a Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer Science Education and English from Brigham Young University, a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Washington, and a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Idaho State University. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served as a missionary in Portugal and the Cape Verde Islands from 1992 to 1994.
Laura first worked for COMPanion Corp., a library automation software firm, in Salt Lake City as a trainer and then as Product Manager until she decided to pursue a degree in pharmacy. After graduation from Idaho State University, she was employed as a pharmacist with Walmart in Naples.
Laura is survived by her parents and her siblings, Michael (Jennifer) Linton, Jonathan (Brandi) Linton, William Linton and Amanda (Paul) Willden, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
