William T. Dautrich of Naples, FL born August 27, 1937 in Philadelphia, PA passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at his home.

Bill is survived by his wife of 34 years, Catherine Garbay-Dautrich (Cass), brother Jack Dautrich, daughter Sharon Martin, son William T Dautrich III, nephew Bob Rogers and niece Jennifer Post. Bill also had 5 grand-children.

He was the son of William T. Dautrich Sr. and Mary Ellen Bettinger Dautrich. He served with distinction in the United States Army as an MP and later in special services as a left-handed pitcher. After honorable discharge, Bill joined the Philadelphia Police Department and served for 11 years. He then became involved with hotel security which led him to his job with Ogden Security as personal security liaison for prominent rock groups such as Led Zeppelin, Eric Clapton and Bad Company. After the death of the drummer for Led Zeppelin, the group disbanded and Bill moved to his next role of substance abuse counselor in the Philadelphia and Trenton areas.

Bill retired to Naples, FL in 2002 with his wife where he played senior baseball and later golf. He loved both sports while enjoying the warm Naples weather.

He will be honored by a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, April 17th at 10 am in the St. Agnes Chapel. His ashes will be interred in the St. Agnes Columbarium following the service.

Memorial contributions in his name can be made to The Humane Society Naples, FL or the American Heart Association.

I will miss my Uncle Bill very much. I met him in 1952, in Philadelphia. He was not quite 7 years older than me, and he was full of mischief. He always kept in touch no matter how far apart we were geographically. He was everyone's friend and would give you the shirt off of his back. Generous. We laughed a lot together over the years ... right up to one week before he passed. He was a bright spirit. He will be sorely missed, and the world is less without him.

Bill was a great guy. I have many good memories of him when i was younger. He and his brother Jack were one of the few connections to my fathers and his family. All too often, one loses touch but a few years ago we reconnected and it was just like old times. The world is a little quieter without Bill in it as it is with Led Zeppelin no longer playing and being protected by Bill. Our sincere condolences to his family. Mike and Corinne

Bill was a special guy....he did not know a stranger! He would start up a conversation and before you knew it he was inviting you to dinner or golf! That is how he met his wife one night at the Mallard Inn in Mt. Laurel, NJ when he took Cass and Her friend (me) to the Philly Mayfair diner afterward! Of course the waitresses all knew Bill! Bill was a truly blessed man - he had a good life, loving wife and adoring pets whom he treasured. Don and I will miss him and his sense of humor and all his Led Zepplin on the road stories. We send our deep condolences to Cass who was his special human guardian angel! Rainbow’s bridge was waiting with Zoe, Leda and Molly waiting to see their loving ‘master’ again. God bless you Bill, Rest In Peace and joy of a life well lived!
